Celina Kobetitsch is a third-year undergraduate student at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, majoring in piano performance and minoring in organ performance. She currently studies piano under Alvin Chow and organ under Dr. Jonathan Moyer. Celina recently worked as the guest organist at Bay Presbyterian Church in Bay Village, OH for four months, where she accompanied the 40-person choir and congregation. She also assisted at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Lakewood, Ohio for several months. Celina is frequently called to play at Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Naperville, IL when she visits home in the Chicago suburbs, and she has filled in for many of the Oberlin organ majors within the past year. She was enrolled in Oberlin’s year-long Sacred Music Skills course, and in January 2017, Celina went on tour with the Oberlin organ department to study the historic organs of Holland and Northern Germany. She began her organ study shortly after coming to Oberlin but has made it a central part of her education ever since. During the summer of 2016, Celina worked as a piano teaching assistant at Interlochen Arts Camp, teaching piano skills classes and aiding students ages 9-15 in their practice. She has performed several solo piano and organ recitals and also participates in a great deal of collaborative work at Oberlin with other instrumentalists and vocalists. She has been honored to have participated in a number of piano competitions, festivals and ensembles and has been singing in choirs ever since 3rd grade. Apart from keyboard instruments, Celina’s other interests include the outdoors, psychology, and writing.
