Gather Together will meet Wednesday June 11th from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at the Centering Space (14812 Lake Ave in Lakewood) to host a discussion on prayer, using the book “Praying like Monks, Living Like Fools” by Tyler Staton as a jumping off point for conversation and fellowship. On Tuesday, May 13, the Bethany Engagement Team will be traveling to the Good Knights of Lorain County at 6pm for an evening of building beds for families in need. If you would like to join us, please sign up on the bulletin board outside the sanctuary. The last Sunday to sign up will be April 27 so we can submit a final head count on time. Carpool groups will meet in the Bethany parking lot at 5:30pm.

The fellowship committee will be hosting a Mother’s Day pancake breakfast between the services.

Mark your calendars now for the 2025 Fish Fry. Tickets will be advance sale only between worship services. The last day to purchase tickets will be Sunday, April 6th!
Fish Dinners - $14 - fried or broiled, fries or baked potato, coleslaw, bread and dessert. Non-fish Dinner - $9 - pierogi with applesauce or macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, bread and dessert. Extra Side - $3 - pierogi or macaroni and cheese. If you would like to help with the fish fry contact Renae Delvitto.
Collecting April 6 - May 25th
During April and May, the Bethany Engagement Team will be collecting gently used clothing items for women and children, NEW Twin-sized bedsheets and pillows, full sized (not travel size) toiletries and feminine hygiene products in bins located in the welcoming room. All donations will be taken to the City Mission, to be donated to Laura's Home Women's Crisis Center. Last day for donations will be Sunday, May 25th.
9:45 AM Sunday Mornings in the Assembly Hall March 9-April 13
Join Pastor Laura as she leads Adult Forum during the time of Lent. Each session will include prayer, scripture, poems, reflection, spiritual practices, and a chance to learn and grow with each other.
Join us at 7:00pm for worship, March 5th with the Imposition of Ashes. We will have worship at 7:00pm for the remaining 5 Wednesdays in Lent. Ash Wednesday and the following Lenten services will also be livestreamed at bethanyenglish.org

Please join us on Sunday February 16th between the worship services for the Annual Meeting of the congregation. At this important meeting, we will discuss what Bethany English Lutheran accomplished in 2024 and plans for 2025. We will also elect three members to the Church Council and two members to the Endowment Committee. The 2024 Annual Report will be available for pick up in the Welcoming Room before the Annual Meeting.

Join us Wednesday Mornings as we continue our study of the Gospel of Matthew using the SOAP (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer) method. This simple method invites you to look deeper into scripture and the discussion encourages us to look at things from new perspectives. All are welcome to join!
All altar guild members are asked to attend. Also, the Altar Guild is looking to add more volunteers to their ranks, if you have ever considered helping out this very important ministry of the church, please attend this meeting.

Church un-Decorating, Saturday, January 11th 9:30am
The Altar Guild will be taking down and storing the Christmas decorations on Saturday, January 11th. Typically the decoration take down gets far less volunteers then the set up. . Please help if you are able

The Sunday School students will participate in this service by helping with the readings, playing the rainbow ringer bells, and singing with the choir.
The nursery will be open and available for any parents who need to use it with their young children.
December 29th and January 5th –

United Protestant Campus Ministries ("UPCaM") is doing a winter clothing drive now through December 8th for cold college students in need. Please share any gently used winter coats, boots, gloves and hats you might have.
Bethany is working with the Community West Socks Program to collect new socks to be donated to local homeless shelters. The donation box is in the Welcoming Room.
Bethany also continually collects nonperishable food items which are donated to local food pantries. The last time the food was delivered, the shelter director mentioned they especially need fruit cups, pasta, and peanut butter. Of course, all donations of food and hygiene items are needed and deeply appreciated.

David Ferro will be teaching the 2nd year of the Bethel Bible Series, focusing on the New Testament. The first class will meet Monday, September 16th at 7:00pm.

It’s time to start planning your Baskets for the annual Bethany Basket Raffle! Tickets will be sold between the services beginning on November 3 rd. The Raffle will take place Sunday, November 24th .
